
5.4-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Northern Afghanistan
A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck on Wednesday, shaking parts of Afghanistan. Residents in Kunduz, Kabul, Takhar, Baghlan and Badakhshan reported feeling the quake around 3:40 p.m. local time.
No information on casualties or damage was immediately available.
The U.S. Geological Survey located the quake 28 kilometers from Ashkasham in Tajikistan at a depth of 104 kilometers. The event affected areas of both Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
