KABUL (Hasht-e Subh) -- The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) stated that families in eastern Afghanistan continue to rebuild their lives following last year's earthquake and require urgent support.

In a post on X on Wednesday, UNICEF noted it is collaborating with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, with support from France, to restore food security and improve nutrition for children and families.

UNICEF added that, together with partners, it is aiding vulnerable families through food assistance and nutrition programs to aid post-earthquake recovery.

The organization emphasized that these efforts particularly target children and vulnerable families, aiming to reduce malnutrition and ensure access to food and essential services.

UNICEF stressed that immediate and sustained support for needy families in Afghanistan is vital for rebuilding lives and improving humanitarian conditions.
