King Salman Charity Foundation Provides 32 Tons of Dates to Afghanistan
The King Salman Charity Foundation provided 32 tons of dates to Afghanistan in coordination with the Ministry of Refugees.
The foundation stated that the distribution occurred on Wednesday, February 18, benefiting hundreds of returning Afghan families in need ahead of Ramadan. Each package was intended to supply essential nutrition to families facing rising food costs.
The charity conducts annual distributions in Afghanistan during Ramadan, providing dates and other food items to vulnerable populations to enable them to observe the holy month with dignity and relief.
In addition to the dates, the foundation distributed 331 food packages in Gurbaz district of Khost province. These packages contained basic staples to help address local food insecurity among affected families.
Officials emphasized the importance of the aid's timing, noting that food prices have surged nationwide, exacerbating challenges for returning migrants and impoverished communities in securing daily meals.
The foundation called for sustained international support and local coordination to ensure that returning migrants and marginalized groups in Afghanistan have adequate food supplies, especially during religious observances.
