Regular Meeting of Economic Commission of Afghanistan's Prime Minister's Office Held
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- The regular session of the Economic Commission, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, deputy for economic affairs in the Prime Minister's Office, took place Tuesday at Marmarin Palace.
The Ministry of Finance presented a report on new revenue opportunities, which was approved. According to the report, the ministry identified fresh opportunities across various sectors. Following approval of related plans, these are expected to generate approximately 60 billion Afghanis in additional long-term revenue for the Islamic Emirate's budget.
The commission also approved 12 draft internal standards and 11 testing methods from the National Standards and Quality Authority. The drafts cover building materials, electrical and medical equipment, textiles, plastics, and dairy products, while the testing methods relate to food and agricultural products.
The Ministry of Energy and Water presented a report on the Panjshir-to-Kabul water transfer project, which received approval. The Ministry of Finance will allocate the necessary budget for its survey and design.
The Ministry of Finance was directed to reallocate budget previously assigned to the Emirati Water Supply Company for transferring water from Shah Wali and Aroos dams to northern areas of Kabul city, with the company to commence practical survey and design work. The company was further instructed to submit an adaptive plan for completing remaining sections of the MDP water supply project to the Ministry of Finance, which will provide funding accordingly.
The General Presidency of Emirati Companies was directed to allocate budget for survey and design of Kabul city water supply projects to the Emirati Water Supply Company.
Follow-up reports on several issues were presented, with necessary instructions issued to relevant departments. The decisions were forwarded to the office of Amir al-Mu'minin Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada for final approval.
