Qatar Condoles Victims of Landslide in Kapisa

Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences over a landslide in Shokhi village in central Kapisa province that killed four people and injured six others.

The incident occurred on Friday night, February 13, 2026, and destroyed one house, according to the Taliban police command in Kapisa.

In a statement, Qatar's Foreign Ministry expressed solidarity with Afghanistan and extended condolences to the victims' families, the interim government and the people of Afghanistan. It also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The statement read: "The Government of Qatar, following the landslide in Kapisa province that led to deaths and injuries, expresses its solidarity with Afghanistan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its condolences to the families of the victims, the interim government, and the people of Afghanistan, and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured."

Natural disasters have increased recently in Afghanistan, claiming dozens of lives in recent months. Highways including Nuristan-Kunar and Jalalabad-Kabul have seen landslides since Miizan (September-October 2025), blocking public roads.
