Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan Leader Criticizes Islamabad's Foreign Policy for Alienating Regional Partners
ISLAMABAD (Afghan Verified) - Mawlana Fazl al-Rahman, leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, criticized Pakistan's foreign policy on Saturday, stating that Islamabad has lost all its regional partners.
Speaking after a meeting in Islamabad with Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner, Fazl al-Rahman discussed the regional security situation and Pakistan's relations with neighboring countries. He said Pakistan faces problems not only with Afghanistan but also with Iran and even its close ally, China.
"China no longer trusts us and due to our wrong policies, the CPEC projects have also been stopped," Fazl al-Rahman stated.
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader urged Pakistan to abandon its "war and security" approach in favor of dialogue and healthy diplomacy that respects the national sovereignty of its neighbors.
Fazl al-Rahman has repeatedly criticized Islamabad's hostile foreign policies toward Kabul. He recently questioned Pakistan's accusations of Afghan involvement in the country's insecurities, calling them politically motivated.
