A meeting attended by officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, aimed at writing and documenting the contemporary history of Afghanistan during the Soviet and US occupation periods, was held at the Kabul Public Library.

Deputy Minister of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture emphasized the need to document the history of the Afghan people's struggles during the presence of the Soviet Red Army and NATO forces led by the United States. Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister of Advisory Affairs of the same ministry, stated: "In the past twenty years, the Americans occupied various fields, and this occupation was not only military but also intellectual and economic. It is necessary that we and you examine all aspects of the aggression and research it."

Lutfullah Khairkhwah, Deputy Minister of Scientific Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education, stressed the strengthening of Islamic ideologies amid the neutrality policy of Islamic countries in global equations. He added that effective study opportunities should be provided for youth in the country, focusing on their mindset rather than restricting books. Khairkhwah said: "Give them a mindset that challenges their minds and they do not just read the pages of the book but compare their intellect with the author of the book."

Participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of writing a comprehensive history in the country.
