Iranian Foreign Minister Asserts Tehran Will Determine End of US-Israel Attacks

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on the third day of joint US and Israeli attacks on Iran that Tehran will determine the time and manner of ending the conflict.

In a post on X, Araghchi wrote: "We have had two decades to examine the failures of the US army in the east and west of our borders and learn the necessary lessons based on them." He added that bombings of Iran's capital have no impact on Tehran's military capability to continue the war, emphasizing: "Multi-layered decentralized defense allows us to determine the time and manner of ending the war ourselves."

US President Donald Trump told American media, including The Atlantic magazine, that Iran's new leaders want to engage in talks with him and he has agreed. Trump said: "They want to talk and I have agreed, so I will talk to them." He added: "They should have done this sooner, something that was very practical and easy; they should have done it before, but they waited too long."

The attacks, now in their third day, have targeted missile and nuclear sites as well as senior Iranian defense and political officials, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has struck US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, drawing condemnation from regional countries.
