Afghan Asylum Seeker Found Guilty of Assaulting and Raping 12-Year-Old Girl in Britain

British media reported that Ahmad Malakhel, an Afghan asylum seeker, was found guilty by Warwick Crown Court in Nuneaton of assaulting and raping a 12-year-old girl.
The BBC reported that on July 22, 2025, Malakhel abducted the girl and took her to a narrow, dark alley, where he committed sexual offenses and filmed the acts.
Malakhel had arrived in Britain four months earlier, in March 2025, by small boat from France.
A co-accused, Mohammad Kabir, 24, was acquitted of charges including strangling the girl, attempted child abduction, and attempted sexual offense.
The case prompted changes to guidelines on reporting the nationality and immigration status of individuals involved in such incidents.
