
Woman Killed, Several Injured in Nangarhar House Roof Collapses
KABUL (Afghan Verified) - The roofs of two houses collapsed in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province due to heavy rains, killing one woman and injuring several others, according to a statement from Taliban police in the province.
The incidents occurred late Sunday in Ghani Khel district's 25th Road or Canal No. 25 area and in Nazian district's Landi or Landai area. Taliban police confirmed the events and said the injured were transferred to nearby health centers.
Reports differed on the number of injured. Amu TV cited four people injured in total, while Pajhwok reported six injured, including four from the first incident and two from the second.
Amu TV also quoted the Taliban disaster management office as saying that rains and floods across 13 provinces in the past 24 hours had killed at least 17 people, injured 26 others, destroyed 37 houses, damaged 80 kilometers of roads and 282 jeribs of farmland, and affected 500 families.
