
WHO Announces Arrival of 78.5 Tons of Emergency Health Aid in Afghanistan
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- The World Health Organization announced the arrival of 78.5 tons of emergency health aid in Afghanistan from its logistics center in Dubai.
The shipment includes measles treatment kits, pneumonia drugs, nutritional materials for children with severe malnutrition, surgical equipment and other essential items. WHO stated on X that the aid will provide health services for more than 419,000 people and enable 13,600 life-saving surgeries.
The announcement was made on Friday, the 14th of Hamal, corresponding to early April 2026.
Afghanistan's health system has faced severe shortages of facilities and resources since the Taliban's return to power, with international aid remaining crucial for sustaining medical services amid ongoing challenges.
