UNRWA: Gaza residents living in difficult conditions as humanitarian aid blocked
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that people in the Gaza Strip continue to live in very difficult conditions, with humanitarian aid to the area blocked.
UNRWA reported on Wednesday, March 11, that Israeli authorities closed all crossings to the Gaza Strip on February 28. This action has heightened concerns over food security and the fuel supplies needed for ongoing humanitarian operations.
The agency added that while the Kerem Shalom crossing has been partially reopened, other crossings remain closed.
UNRWA emphasized that it has not halted its activities. Even aid shipments blocked for more than a year have allowed services to continue.
To meet the growing needs of the population, UNRWA said it requires permission to increase the volume of humanitarian aid entering Gaza.
This critical situation is affecting the lives of hundreds of thousands in Gaza, intensifying concerns about rising poverty, food shortages, and limitations in health services.
