UN Secretary-General Guterres: No Military Solution to Middle East Conflict

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated there is no military solution to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, following weeks of destruction and suffering.

In a post on X, Guterres called for the resumption of talks to reach an agreement. "The ceasefire must be strictly maintained. All violations must cease," he said.

Guterres emphasized that all parties must respect freedom of navigation, including in the Strait of Hormuz, in line with international law.

The remarks come after Iran and the United States agreed to a two-week ceasefire last week.
