Saudi Ambassador Meets Afghan Foreign Minister to Discuss Expanding Ties
KABUL — Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Kabul, Faisal Talq Al-Baqmi, held talks with Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi on expanding political, security, and economic relations between Kabul and Riyadh.
The meeting in Kabul also addressed regional developments and ongoing negotiations in China's Urumqi. Muttaqi briefed Al-Baqmi on the Urumqi talks and expressed hope that minor technical issues would not impede progress.
Muttaqi described relations between Kabul and Riyadh as positive and voiced optimism for further expansion in political, security, and economic sectors.
The Saudi ambassador stated that political, security, and economic stability in Afghanistan is important to Saudi Arabia and affirmed Riyadh's support for Afghanistan in those areas.
Both sides expressed optimism about strengthening bilateral ties amid discussions on regional matters.
