Lavrov Says Oil Markets Key Driver of US, Israel Stance on Iran

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that control over global oil markets is a key factor driving the aggressive stance of the United States and Israel toward Iran.

Lavrov made the remarks on April 15 during an official visit to China, amid regional tensions and concerns over energy supplies. He said Washington's actions aim to influence global energy markets through instability in the Middle East.

"Influencing oil markets is a strategic objective for the US alongside support for Israel," Lavrov said. He highlighted that Russia and China possess sufficient economic and energy capacity to avoid dependence on such aggressive adventures that undermine global energy systems.

Lavrov also referenced former US President Donald Trump, who earlier suggested the possibility of targeting Iran's oil infrastructure. The comments come as regional dynamics raise questions about energy security and international relations.
