UN Secretary-General Guterres: India a model for simultaneous industrial and clean energy development
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that India demonstrates it is possible to expand access to clean energy while growing industry.
Guterres wrote on X on the night of Friday, February 20, that the world should view this as an opportunity for development and growth, advancing the transition to clean energy in a fair and rapid manner for people and the planet Earth.
He emphasized that combating climate change should not hinder development and that climate imperatives can be transformed into development opportunities.
Guterres had previously stated that the transition to clean energy must be pursued in an 'irreversible' manner.
