UAE provides 65 types of medicines to Jawzjan hospital

SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan (Afghan Verified) -- The United Arab Emirates has donated 65 types of medicines worth $150,000 to the 200-bed provincial hospital in northern Jawzjan province to address shortages of essential medical supplies.
The handover ceremony took place on Monday. Governor Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadi, speaking at the event, stressed that the medicines must be distributed fairly and transparently to treat patients. He urged provincial health officials to store the medicines properly according to required standards to ensure their preservation.
Dr. Afzal Azimi, director of the provincial hospital, said the donation would significantly alleviate the facility's current medicine shortages. "These medicines will play an important role in meeting patients’ basic treatment needs and improving the quality of healthcare services for visitors," Azimi said. "We sincerely appreciate this humanitarian assistance and hope such support will continue in the future."
Wasim Sarwari, a representative of the UAE Embassy, stated that the assistance aims to meet patients' primary medical needs. He added that the UAE intends to continue its humanitarian support and cooperate in providing access to safe drinking water.
