Source: Afghanistan International|

Several government school teachers in Balkh province said they have not received their salaries for the past few months ahead of Eid. One teacher from a government school in Balkh reported not receiving pay for three months. The teachers also complained that their salaries are too low to meet economic needs and urged Taliban officials to pay them on time.

Taliban officials have not commented on the delays. The Taliban administration has faced ongoing issues paying salaries to teachers and other government employees four years after taking power.

Earlier this solar year, government teachers in southern provinces reported receiving only two months' pay over a five-month period.

The outlet's analysis indicated that a major portion of the Taliban's budget goes toward security issues and military structures.

Separately, local residents reported that Pakistani aircraft bombed the command of Mullah Hibatullah's special forces around the 13th district of Kandahar city on Saturday night, with the explosion heard in distant areas. Another Taliban center near Ainomina town in the 11th district of Kandahar city was attacked afterward.
