Six Family Members Die in House Roof Collapse in Nangarhar's Shirzad District

Six members of a family, including women and children, died when the roof of their house collapsed in Shirzad district of Nangarhar province amid heavy rains and flooding.

Qureshi Badlon, director of information at the Taliban Information and Culture Department in Nangarhar, confirmed the incident.

Taliban authorities reported additional house roof collapses in Pachiragam, Khogyani, Spinghar and Shirzad districts since the previous day, killing six people and injuring seven.

Heavy rains the day before in Nangarhar province killed at least 13 people and injured 19 others.

Nationwide, recent floods and heavy rains have resulted in at least 110 deaths and more than 160 injuries, according to Taliban reports.

The Taliban's National Disaster Management Authority stated that 6,000 families have been affected and 3,600 houses destroyed by the floods.

The disaster has impacted more than 20 provinces, destroying 11,700 jeribs of agricultural land and damaging 337 kilometers of roads.
