Public Health Minister Urges Graduates to Separate Trade from Medicine
A graduation ceremony for nearly 500 health specialists was held on Tuesday, 28 Dalwa 1404 (February 17, 2025), organized by the Ministry of Public Health's General Directorate of Specialization Completion.
Molvi Noorjalal Jalali, the Public Health Minister, addressed the graduates, urging them to "separate trade from medicine" and adhere to professional ethics. He emphasized that success lies in not using the sacred field of medicine for commercial purposes and called on doctors to serve citizens with commitment and sincerity. Jalali stated the ministry is committed to providing job opportunities for the new graduates.
Regarding infrastructure, Jalali noted that out of 318 planned district-level hospitals, preparations for 100 have been completed, with construction to begin soon, according to RTA. ToloNews reported that preparatory work for hospitals in all 318 districts has been completed. He also assured efforts to reduce citizens' need for diagnosis and treatment abroad and expand quality services nationwide.
Qari Abdulwali Sadiqi, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration, urged graduates to match their personal efforts with national duties, commit to their profession, and serve the people sincerely.
Molvi Abdulbaqi Haqqani, head of the National Examinations Administration, called for increased public awareness to prevent diseases and stronger emergency services, noting accelerated efforts to provide facilities for health workers.
Molvi Hamdullah Naumani, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, praised the academic event and advised graduates to perform their duties with sincerity, treat patients kindly, and provide reassurance. He criticized some hospitals for excessive spending on decorations and unnecessary tests, calling it a crime.
Nithar Ahmad Niazi, head of the General Directorate of Specialization, highlighted the increase in specialist doctors and trainers, building public trust in the health sector, and called for ministry attention to facilities and higher salaries for doctors.
Some graduates, like Syed Hamid Sadat, expressed concern that their specialization certificates, despite over seven years of study, do not upgrade their academic degree administratively, holding it at bachelor's level.
