Public gathering in Ghazni expresses condolences for death of Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei

GHZNI, Afghanistan (Pajhwok) -- Hundreds of residents of Ghazni city gathered at the Jameh Mosque of Hazrat Mohammad Mustafa, near the Islamic Culture Center, to express condolences for the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's religious leader, whom they described as an influential figure in the Islamic world.

The gathering followed reports that the United States and Israel jointly attacked various cities in Iran on the 10th of Hoot, resulting in the deaths of several Iranian officials, including Khamenei.

Participants discussed Khamenei's political and religious life, highlighting his significant role in regional political developments and support for Islamic values.

Religious scholar Mohammad Ibrahim Salehi told Pajhwok: "We have gathered here today to express our condolences to the people of Iran over the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei."

Tribal elder Elias, another participant, said: "Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was one of the influential figures in the Islamic world who spent a large part of his life defending Islamic values; his death is a cause of sorrow for Muslims."

Political analyst Anwar Farhadi told Pajhwok: "Such gatherings are held to keep alive the memory of the lives and struggles of important figures. The death of influential personalities like Ayatollah Ali Khamenei could also impact the regional political landscape."

Other speakers noted that Khamenei's political and religious positions had influenced many regional developments and that his persona had been a significant part of global political discussions.
