The strikes follow a pattern of cross-border actions. Taliban officials previously reported Pakistani strikes in Paktika Province, while residents in Khost Province reported cross-border shelling.
The incident comes amid ongoing disputes between Pakistan and Taliban officials over Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan fighters based in Afghanistan. Talks between Pakistani officials and Taliban representatives in Urumqi, China, ended without agreement earlier this month.
