Over 28,000 Foreign Nationals Entered and Exited Afghanistan in Solar Year 1404: NSIA
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Afghanistan's National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) reported that 16,276 foreign nationals entered the country and 12,198 exited through its land ports and airports in solar year 1404, totaling 28,474 movements.
Among arrivals, 728 were women. Most entered via land borders, with 16,090 arriving by land and 182 by air. Departures included 158 women.
NSIA data showed entries primarily for work purposes (13,792), tourism or visiting historical sites (2,369) and education (115).
The highest number of arrivals was recorded at Nimroz port (10,450), followed by Herat ports and airport (3,648), Aqina in Faryab province (832) and Torkham (814). Other entry points included Hairatan and Balkh airport.
NSIA's Civil Registration and Foreign Nationals Department is responsible for tracking entries, exits and vital events of foreign nationals in Afghanistan.
Pajhwok Afghan News framed the total as 'over 28,000,' while Radio Television Afghanistan provided the exact figure of 28,474. RTA described tourism entries as for 'visiting historical and ancient sites,' compared to Pajhwok's 'tourism.'
