Nangarhar Deputy Governor Meets UNAMA Head to Discuss Support for Returnees and Disaster-Affected Families

JALALABAD, Afghanistan -- Nangarhar Deputy Governor Mawlawi Ghulam Rahman Haydari met with Georgitte Gagnon, head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), to discuss support for returnees and families affected and displaced by natural disasters.

The meeting focused on the needs of these groups, with Haydari providing suggestions to Gagnon on how to address challenges faced by returnees, disaster-affected families, and those displaced.

Gagnon praised the cooperation between Nangarhar's local administration and UN-related institutions. She assured the continuation of assistance to those in need.

The UNAMA head also noted losses incurred in Nangarhar from recent rains and floods.
