Ministry of Public Works Reopens Flood-Damaged Roads in Samangan, Baghlan and Paktia

KABUL (Afghan Verified) — Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Works announced the reopening of several roads that had been closed due to recent floods.

Spokesperson Mohammad Ashraf Haqqnawaz stated on X that the Dara-i-Suf to Balkh road in Samangan province, the Kabul-North route in Baghlan province, and the Gardez-Khost route in Paktia province are now open for traffic.

The Aibak-Roy Doab route in Samangan province remains temporarily closed but will reopen soon, Haqqnawaz said.

The Salang pass continues to be open for traffic despite snowy precipitation, with ministry personnel actively spreading gravel and salt to ensure safety.

In addition, ministry teams are carrying out repair and reconstruction work on damaged roads, bridges and culverts in various provinces affected by the floods.
