Laghman reports 7.6% increase in fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing sapling production
Officials from the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock in Laghman province announced a 7.6% increase in the production of fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing saplings compared to the previous year.
Sardar Ziyar, media officer for the department, stated that private agricultural farms in the province produced around one million saplings last year, with this year's output rising to 1.076 million saplings.
Ahmad Zia, director of the department's agricultural farms, said 25 hectares of land in Laghman are currently allocated to private agricultural farms.
Private farm officials and sapling sellers in the province reported higher sales of saplings this year compared to previous years.
Additionally, officials noted plans to plant approximately one million fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing saplings in Laghman this year as part of the Sapling Planting Campaign.
