Kremlin Spokesman: Transfer of Frozen Russian Assets to Gaza Peace Commission Not Yet Finalized

Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin, stated that Moscow has not received a response to President Vladimir Putin's proposal to transfer part of Russia's frozen assets in the United States to a peace commission.
Peskov told reporters, as reported by Russia's TASS news agency on Feb. 9, that the proposal was previously raised by Putin but no official reaction has come from the U.S. side.
He added that the peace commission issue, per Putin's order, is being examined by Russia's Foreign Ministry along with allies and partners.
Putin had previously said Moscow is prepared to allocate $1 billion of its frozen assets in the U.S. to the peace commission, established as part of the ceasefire peace process in the Gaza Strip.
The Russian president emphasized readiness to proceed even before details of participation and operations are clarified.
