A delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by Mullah Faizullah Temim, head of the Standards and Quality Administration, held meetings during an official visit to Turkmenistan.

The delegation met with Afghan traders and investors at the Afghan embassy in Ashgabat. Traders raised issues regarding the transfer of commercial goods, quality control processes, and certain technical barriers, while offering suggestions for improvements. Mullah Faizullah Temim described the traders' role as vital to the country's economic self-sufficiency. He assured them that addressing their problems and providing necessary facilities is a priority, with serious steps to be taken. The Islamic Emirate is committed to strengthening domestic industry and supporting traders by providing all required technical and administrative facilities, in line with its policy to remove trade barriers and protect traders' legal rights for sustainable growth and self-sufficiency.

Separately, the delegation held meetings with deputies from Turkmenistan's railway authority and the General Directorate of Customs. Discussions focused on resolving transit problems, increasing wagon capacity for faster transport of oil and commercial materials, and strengthening technical and customs cooperation to facilitate bilateral trade. Turkmen officials called for speeding up wagon testing and technical processes at ports to return empty wagons promptly. Both sides agreed on bilateral cooperation, joint work, and continued coordination meetings to ease trade and customs procedures.
