Iran's Foreign Minister Says Significant Progress Made in Nuclear Talks Before Attacks

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that Tehran and Washington had made significant progress in nuclear talks in Geneva prior to recent attacks.

In comments to the TASS news agency on March 14, Araqchi said Iran was prepared to offer a major concession by handing over and diluting 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% purity. He noted that this stockpile, if further enriched, would be sufficient for 10 nuclear bombs.

Araqchi emphasized that Iran has no intention of building a nuclear bomb and aimed to demonstrate good faith in the negotiations for a peaceful resolution to the nuclear issue.

He accused Washington of misinterpreting Iran's position, attributing it to a lack of awareness or an effort to justify aggressive action. This misunderstanding, according to Araqchi, has led to heightened tensions.
