Herat Produces Up to 2.5 Million Eggs Daily
The spokesperson for the Herat governor stated that up to 2.5 million eggs are produced daily in the province and supplied to the market.
Mufti Mohammad Yusuf Saidi, spokesperson for the Herat governor, told Bakhtar News Agency that production levels will increase further with the activation of several egg production companies in the near future.
One egg production company in Herat currently produces about 50,000 fresh eggs daily and supplies them to the market.
Mahmoud Shah Mohib, head of the Aasa Egg Production Company, said the company was established with an investment of nearly $1 million and its products are sent to eight other provinces.
Mohib added that if imports of smuggled and low-quality eggs are prevented, domestic producers could fully meet market needs and create more employment opportunities for citizens.
