Foreign Ministers of Eight Muslim-Majority Nations Condemn Israeli Actions in West Bank

Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates issued a joint statement condemning Israeli actions in the West Bank.
The ministers described Israeli measures as illegal, stating they aim to accelerate annexation efforts and expand settlements. They emphasized that sovereignty over Palestinian territories cannot be legally imposed.
The statement warned that continued Israeli policies could increase violence and instability across the region. The ministers urged respect for international law and protection of Palestinian civilian rights.
The remarks followed the Israeli security cabinet's approval of steps easing land purchases by settlers and granting authorities expanded powers in dealing with Palestinians in the territory.
More than 140 United Nations member states recognize Palestine, and the UN General Assembly granted it non-member observer state status in November 2012.
Settlement expansion and control measures in the West Bank remain among the most disputed issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and ongoing peace efforts. Diplomats say renewed international engagement will be necessary to prevent further escalation and preserve prospects for a negotiated two-state solution.
