Floods Kill Child in Nangarhar's Behsud District, Displace 150 in Kama; Taliban NDMA Reports National Toll of 99

Floods over the past day in the Saracha area of Behsud district, Nangarhar province, killed one child whose body remains missing, with search efforts ongoing, according to the Taliban governor's media office in Nangarhar.

The floods also destroyed five head of livestock in the area.

Taliban officials in Kama district of Nangarhar reported the relocation of 150 residents due to flooding.

Earlier heavy rains and flooding in Nangarhar killed at least 13 people and injured 19 others, damaging homes, district officials said.

House roof collapses triggered by the rains in Pchiragham, Khogyani, Spinghar and Shirzad districts of Nangarhar killed six people and injured seven.

The Taliban's National Disaster Management Authority reported a nationwide death toll of 99 from recent floods and natural events, with more than 154 people injured.

The disasters affected 6,000 families, destroyed 3,600 homes, ruined 11,700 jeribs of agricultural land and damaged 337 kilometers of roads across more than 20 provinces, including Kabul and areas in the southern, western, northern and eastern regions.
