
Five killed, five injured as vehicle overturns in Badakhshan province
A Frontier-type motor vehicle overturned in the Kotl Katak area of Shahr-e Bozorg district in Badakhshan province, killing five people and injuring five others.
Molvi Abdul Rashid Rashad, the district governor of Shahr-e Bozorg, said the incident occurred this morning when the vehicle veered off the road. He attributed the accident to the driver's carelessness.
Rashad told Bakhtar News Agency that most of the victims were residents of Takhar province who were traveling from the Awiz area of Shahr-e Bozorg district to the provincial center.
The injured were transferred to the Shahr-e Bozorg district health center for initial treatment and are scheduled to be moved to the provincial hospital, according to the district governor.
