First Futsal Talent Identification Camp Held in Mazar-i-Sharif with Nearly 200 Under-17 Players
A futsal talent identification camp involving nearly 200 players from northern and northeastern provinces of Afghanistan has been held for the first time in Mazar-i-Sharif.
Officials from the Afghanistan Football Federation in Balkh province stated the two-day program targets under-17 players to identify top talents and strengthen base futsal teams in the country.
Organizers emphasized that such initiatives play a key role in discovering young talents. Participating players expressed happiness about the camp, noting it provides opportunities for growth and the emergence of top futsal players.
Officials from the Balkh province sports directorate assured continued support for athletes across various sports disciplines.
The camp comes after Afghanistan's under-17 national futsal team won the championship and gold medal last year in competitions held in Bahrain. The team defeated Thailand, Iran, Bahrain, Uzbekistan and China to claim the historic title.
