Amir al-Mu'minin Hibatullah Akhundzada Issues Eid al-Fitr Congratulatory Message
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, Amir al-Mu'minin, issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr addressed to the mujahid and faithful people of Afghanistan and Muslims worldwide.
In the message, Akhundzada prayed for the acceptance of worships and services performed during Ramadan, including fasting, Tarawih prayers and charities. He beseeched Allah to keep all steadfast on the path of piety, sincerity and steadfastness, granting happiness and success in this world and the hereafter.
Akhundzada quoted verses from the Quran, including Surah Al-A'la (14-15): "Indeed, successful is the one who purifies himself and mentions the name of his Lord and prays." He provided a translation emphasizing purification from sins through faith, remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer.
He also cited Surah Al-Baqarah (183): "O you who have believed, fasting has been prescribed upon you as it was prescribed upon those before you that you may become righteous." The message described Ramadan as a month of patience, piety and social empathy.
The message included Hadiths narrated by Abu Hurairah, in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated that fasting is solely for Allah, with rewards beyond other deeds, offering two joys to the faster and serving as a shield. Another Hadith from Salman described Ramadan as a great and blessed month overshadowed by a night better than a thousand months, with obligatory fasting and voluntary night prayers.
Akhundzada began the message with praise to Allah and testimony of faith, seeking refuge from evils of the soul and bad deeds.
