Amir al-Mu'minin Addresses Scholars' Meeting in Kandahar

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- The esteemed Amir al-Mu'minin participated and delivered a speech at a meeting for scholars from districts in Kandahar province.

He stated that scholars are the elders and leaders of the ummah in religious matters, and the entire ummah and amirs are obligated to obey their religious rulings, seeking guidance and consultation from them in such affairs.

The Amir al-Mu'minin added that scholars have protected and will continue to protect the religion, Islam, and religious rulings. He noted that efforts to weaken Islam, distort its teachings, and alter religious rulings have persisted across eras and continue today.

Referring to their responsibilities, he said that if scholars demonstrate firm resolve, many societal evils can be largely eradicated. He expressed gratitude to the people and scholars of Afghanistan for their obedience to the Islamic Emirate, stating they will continue to do so.

Addressing the scholars directly, the Amir al-Mu'minin urged them to encourage unity among the people, to obey one another, engage in dialogue, end practices of ignorance, and remain vigilant. He instructed officials to attend to their duties ceaselessly.

Attendees included Sheikh Noor ul-Haq Anwar, head of the General Administration of Affairs; Sheikh Shahabuddin Dilawar, head of the Afghan Red Crescent; the deputy military of the Supreme Court; the head of the Central Darul Iftaa; the deputy judicial of the Supreme Court; and other scholars and officials.

At the conclusion, all scholars renewed their pledge and commitment to the Amir al-Mu'minin and expressed full support for the Islamic system.
