Afghanistan's Ambassador to Switzerland Criticizes Taliban Leaders for Living in 'Parallel World'
KABUL — Nasir Ahmad Andisheh, Afghanistan's ambassador to Switzerland, stated that many Taliban leaders live in a "parallel world" where their views and behaviors are far removed from contemporary society and the 21st century.
In a post on X on Monday, February 16, Andisheh wrote that instead of engaging with the people of Afghanistan and the international community in the 21st century, many Taliban leaders appear to live in the first century.
"And they think they are talking and preaching not to the people of Afghanistan and the world in the third decade of the 21st century, but in the first century and to the community of jinn," he added.
Andisheh has previously described the Taliban as existing in a "parallel world," one in which the voices of the Afghan people are not heard and the rules of the international system are ignored.
He further asserted that the group holds no legitimacy to govern the people of Afghanistan, and their claim to power lacks national, legal, international, traditional, and religious values.
