Afghanistan Rejects Pakistan's Allegations Over Islamabad Mosque Attack

The Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has rejected accusations by Pakistani officials linking Afghanistan to a deadly suicide attack on a mosque in Islamabad.
The ministry described the statements as irresponsible and said they cannot conceal Pakistan’s security failures. The attack, which occurred a day earlier in Pakistan’s capital, killed 31 people and injured 170 others, with the Islamic State (ISIS) claiming responsibility.
Toriyalai Zazi, a military analyst, stated: “Pakistan is one of the most dangerous terrorist-affected countries in this region and in our neighborhood. The crime that occurred in Pakistan today is Pakistan’s own responsibility, and through such accusations they are trying to defame Afghanistan.”
Military and political analysts warned that continued accusations could harm the fragile relations between Kabul and Islamabad. Sadiq Shinwari, a military analyst, said: “These baseless allegations are usually made to cover internal weaknesses, and their continuation is in the interest of neither country.”
Akhtar Mohammad Rasekh, a political analyst, added: “The Pakistani intelligence services themselves are behind this suicide attack and are trying to convince regional countries that have good relations with the Islamic Emirate that the Islamic Emirate supports terrorists.”
