Afghanistan Justice Minister Emphasizes Price Controls and Anti-Hoarding Measures

Sheikh Abdul Hakim Shari'i, Afghanistan's Minister of Justice, has stressed the need for controlling prices of basic materials and preventing hoarding in the country's markets.

During a meeting with officials from the Commission for Control of Prices of Basic Materials and Prevention of Hoarding, Shari'i stated that providing facilities for the people is the responsibility of the system, and every department must work seriously in this area.

He added that both the people and the system need to recognize their responsibilities, identify hoarders, and hold them legally accountable.

The minister also emphasized that the Ministry of Justice is prepared to facilitate coordination between the commission and relevant unions to resolve existing problems.

Commission officials, in turn, said the body is working to maintain price stability in the market through coordination with relevant departments and traders of basic materials.
