
Afghan Athletes Participate in International Acrobatic Rock'n'Roll Competitions in Russia
Afghan athletes took part in the first stage of international acrobatic rock'n'roll and acro swing competitions held in Krasnogorsk near Moscow, Russia.
Russia's state news agency RIA Novosti reported that more than 30 athletes from 16 countries, including Afghanistan, participated in the event. The competitions aim to promote acrobatic rock'n'roll and acro swing sports, enhance athletes' skills and create a common platform for competition in sports dance disciplines.
Athletes competed in five sections: 'M class mix', 'E class mix', 'B class mix' and 'Acro swing' for both men and women, while the 'Formation' section featured only women's teams.
Organizers announced that the second and fourth stages are scheduled for May and September in Belarus, the third stage in June in Kazakhstan, and the final stage in November in Moscow.
Russian media described Russian athletes as among the main contenders in the competitions.
