14 Kilograms of Opium Smuggling Prevented in Badakhshan's Kashm District
The Ministry of Interior reported that police in the Kashm district of Badakhshan province arrested a person attempting to smuggle 14 kilograms of opium.
The security police command in the district made the arrest. The suspect will be handed over to judicial and legal organs after preliminary investigations.
The operation occurs amid a nationwide ban on narcotics imposed by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Under the ban, which has been in place for nearly five years, authorities have dismantled dozens of drug factories in various provinces.
