A washroom project has been completed in three schools in Jalalabad city, Nangarhar province. The facilities were handed over for use after nine months of work.
The project was carried out by the Nangarhar Department of Economy in cooperation with the Department of Education and the National Humanitarian Joint Efforts Institution. It cost 5.6 million afghanis and aims to provide health, hygiene and clean water facilities to improve the educational environment for students and teachers.
Maulvi Jan Mohammad Hamid, head of the Nangarhar Department of Economy, stated that the project strengthens the education sector and creates a healthy educational environment.
Maulvi Liaqat Ali Abid, teaching deputy of the Nangarhar Department of Education, described the projects as important and called for continued cooperation in education.
Hundreds of students and teachers will benefit from the clean water, health services and better hygiene facilities.
