Warehouse Built in Uruzgan at Cost of Nearly 8 Million Afghanis

Trinkot city in Uruzgan province now has a new storage warehouse for dry fruits. The facility was built in the dry fruit market in district four of the city. It has a capacity of two thousand tons.

The construction cost a total of seven point seven million Afghanis. Funding for the project was provided by the United Nations Development Programme. The local municipality gave technical support to the effort.

Mayor of Trinkot city Mulla Mohammad Ismail Defai talked about what the warehouse is supposed to do. He said it will help to preserve the products. It will support the traders who work in the market. The warehouse will also help to organize the dry fruit market. In addition, it is expected to boost the local economy.

After it was finished, the warehouse was handed over so that it can be used. The local traders are happy with the new warehouse. They have asked for more projects like this one. They think these projects will help them to export agricultural products.

This is the second project in the dry fruit market. Before this, two cold rooms were completed in the same market. Those rooms are for preserving dry fruits and vegetables. The earlier project had a cost of more than five million Afghanis.
