US forces have targeted military facilities on Iran's Kharg Island, including missile warehouses, sea mine warehouses, air defense systems, a naval base and airport facilities, according to US President Donald Trump and US officials. Trump stated on social media that the strikes completely destroyed the military targets but emphasized that oil infrastructure was not deliberately hit. The island, Iran's main oil export terminal handling about 90% of its crude, was struck amid escalating tensions with Iran.

Trump warned that if Iran obstructs ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz, Washington may target Kharg Island's oil facilities. More than 15 explosions were heard on the island during the attacks, sources told Fars News Agency.

In response, Iranian officials and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned of retaliatory strikes on oil and gas facilities in the region cooperating with the US if Iran's energy infrastructure is attacked. IRGC Navy commander Ali Reza Tangsiri claimed Iranian naval forces carried out attacks on US military bases in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Separately, five US KC-135 refueling planes were damaged in an Iranian attack at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, according to the Wall Street Journal as cited by Ariana News and Khaama Press. No casualties were reported, and repairs are underway.

The exchanges are part of a broader regional conflict that began with US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, involving Iran-aligned groups and impacting global energy markets.
