UNAMA Hosts Third Doha Process Private Sector Meeting in Kabul

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) hosted the third private sector meeting under the Doha Process in Kabul, bringing together officials from key economic and financial institutions, UN agencies, diplomats and regional representatives.
Participants discussed challenges related to private sector growth, coordination and transparency in Afghanistan's economic environment. The Doha Process, launched in 2023 under UN leadership, seeks to maintain structured engagement with Afghan authorities on humanitarian, economic and technical cooperation issues.
Kabul recently hosted another Doha Process meeting focused on counter-narcotics cooperation, indicating ongoing international engagement on practical matters amid political complexities.
Taliban officials stated that discussions centered on improving coordination mechanisms and supporting economic recovery efforts. Participants emphasized the need for stronger cooperation among institutions and proposed solutions to enhance economic inclusion, investment conditions and transparency.
The meeting concluded with calls for continued dialogue between Afghan institutions and international partners to bolster private sector development and economic stability. UNAMA has not yet issued an official statement.
