
Two Pakistani soldiers killed in TTP-targeted operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Pakistani media reported that two members of the Pakistani army were killed following an explosion in the Bano area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Pakistani army issued a statement on Saturday, Feb. 21, confirming the incident occurred during an intelligence operation against Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) aimed at preventing a suicide bombing. According to the statement, five TTP members were killed in an initial clash with army forces.
Subsequently, another attacker rammed a bomb-laden vehicle into an army convoy, resulting in the deaths of one officer and one soldier.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Pakistani officials attributed it to TTP.
The incident follows a bombing in the same area last week that caused numerous casualties.
