Trump says US war with Iran nearly over; IRGC commander says no end to conflict
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the war with Iran is almost completely over, describing it as a "short-term excursion" that has progressed faster than expected and ahead of schedule.
Trump said in remarks reported by The Guardian: "I think the war is almost completely over. They have no navy, no communications, and no air force." He added that the U.S. has won in many ways but not enough, and warned that if Iran halts oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz, it would face "much harder blows."
In response, Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, commander of Iran's IRGC Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said there is no end to the war. According to Iran's Tasnim news agency, he stated that the United States and Israel are not in a position to end the conflict whenever they want.
Aliabadi emphasized that the martyrdom of Iran's leader and people is not forgivable, adding that the U.S. and Israel must apologize for their actions.
