A document obtained by Amu TV shows that the Taliban Ministry of Education has ordered the suspension of all educational projects implemented by domestic and foreign institutions until further notice.

The document, dated 24 Jadi and signed by the Taliban minister of education, was sent to the political representative of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). It states that continuation of these projects is contingent on re-evaluation and approval by the ministry.

Institutions and organizations active in education are required to submit all documents, reports, and financial information related to their projects to the ministry. They must not start any new educational programs or activities without official permission from the ministry.

The order also mandates review of contracts for school management, teacher hiring, and other educational activities. The ministry reserves the right to cancel contracts and take further actions in case of violations.

The Taliban Ministry of Education claims the decision aims to ensure transparency, prevent misuse, and increase coordination in the education system.

Since returning to power in 2021, the Taliban has imposed widespread restrictions on Afghanistan's education system, including banning girls' education above the sixth grade and limiting activities of many educational and aid organizations.

The Taliban Ministry of Education has not provided official details on the timeline for resuming projects or results of the announced evaluations. UNAMA has not issued an official reaction to the decision.
