The Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice announced the arrest of a suspect in Meydan Wardak who fired gunshots in front of a house in Logar province to claim a girl for marriage.

Ministry spokesperson Maulvi Saif al-Salam Khyber confirmed the details, stating that the man used a rifle to fire the shots as part of his attempt to propose marriage in this manner.

Khyber described such acts as serious crimes. He noted that the ministry has carried out numerous arrests for similar incidents since the Islamic Emirate's return to power.
