The feature film titled Postman, under the direction of Siddiq Barmak, has obtained representation for international sales. Le Pacte, a company located in Paris, is set to manage the sales process now that shooting has finished in Germany after an initial start in Dohuk within Iraqi Kurdistan.

The narrative unfolds in Kabul during the year 1992. It depicts the challenges faced by a postman as he seeks to survive in the midst of various political and social upheavals. Writers Asad Hussain and David Wahab crafted the screenplay, which carries the working title Kabul Affair.

Playing the central character is Hussein Hassan Ali, who hails from the Iraqi Kurdish community and works as both an actor and a director. The production schedule saw cameras rolling from early February onward in Dohuk in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Later portions of the filming took place in the Arkenberge area situated in northern Berlin, Germany.

A collaboration among several international production houses has brought the project to fruition. On the German side, Epic Film Production and Mythos Film are participants. From France comes La Tête de Cochon, while MRK Films represents the Turkish contribution.

Siddiq Barmak achieved widespread recognition through his film Osama. That work earned a Golden Globe and was shown at the Cannes festival. Additionally, he is the director of Opium War, which came out in 2008.
